A 44 acre park donated to the city by Elizabeth Duthie of Ruthrieston in 1881 in memory of her uncle and her brother.
It is home to the David Welch Winter Gardens, beautifully tranquil tropical houses with water features (with McPuddock the mechanical frog!) and the second largest collections of bromeliads and giant cacti in the UK.
Holds a free music festival each year (hmm, well it used to) and is the venue for the big screen broadcasts transmitted from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
