Hazlehead Park
Hazlehead Park

Aberdeen
AB15 8BJ

Hazlehead Park, which extends over more than 180 hectares, was originally part of the freedom lands granted to the city in 1319. It subsequently became privately owned but was bought back by the council in 1920.

It has Scotland's first maze (constructed in 1935), a pets' corner with donkeys, a llama, guinea pigs, rabbits and goats, children's play area and the Queen Mother Rose Garden with the Piper Alpha memorial in its centre. The golf course on its outskirts are three golf courses, the main one laid out by Alistair McKenzie, the designer of Atlanta National. During the school holidays there is a putting green and crazy golf.
